Eero Aarnio

Finnish designer Eero Aarnio was the pioneer of the original bubble or ball chair, one of the most iconic symbols of Scandinavian conceptualist furniture and widely reproduced throughout the world.

Whether suspended from the ceiling and made from clear fibreglass like a true life-sized bubble or a hollow, heavily-cushioned sphere literally inviting the person to climb inside, Eero was the first designer to challenge the concept of a chair, stripping away all traditional aspects until it was essentially art.

An Eero Aarnio chair adds the ultimate 1960's psychedelic charm to any modern sitting room.
